The import version is probably the same version sold by gogamer.com during their Thanksgiving sale ($34.99). Gogamer import version says Asia-Pacific version and comes with 5 CDs in paper sleeve and one little card with key defs. I assume the regular US version at least comes with a little booklet with more instructions?Originally posted by: Spike
What is this?
Newegg Link
I ask because this goes for $46.80 plus $2.99 shipping and they have another, cheaper version at $39.70. I am trying to figure out the difference. Also, can't you download DOD:S or do you need to buy it seperatly if you don't get a HL version that comes with it.

EDIT* I noticed the first one says "ibox" and below it says "import box", what does that mean?

i strongly recommend goin thru steam. Having bought the ce version on release day, i had a horrible time activating. To top things off, i ned to insert the dvd EVRY FRUGGING TIME I PLAY.
No such requirements for steam versions. I think valve went out of their way to fu(k over vivendi customers. Stuttering is not much of an issue for me, only seems to happen around level loads and not during actual combat.
The newegg version is the reg retail version, w/o the half life 1 source.
Again stay away from the retail ce, get the steam gold or any other steam version.
