half life 2 back up

hi folks

ive got half life 2 installed on my XP-Home running rig. due to the upgrade, i'm planning to clean-install XP again.

how do i back up all the save points on HL2? is it even possible? I had to install STEAM software in order to play HL2 and i thought it might complicate the issue.

There should be a back up option with in steam. but that would require you to burn a DVD of the back up. There should be a save game folder somewhere in there though.
 
There's a save game folder, just back up the files in the folder.

The folder is something like \SteamApps\YourName\half-life 2\hl2\SAVE
