I got one of these open HL2 boxes for $1.99 + like 7 for shipping. Anyways it came with a working CD key. I wouldn't be to worried about a invalid key as most people in that thread didn't have issues either.

Wow! soooo late, dawg. 😛

I wonder how much that note from VU will hold up considering Valve and Vivindi went their seperate ways and Valve owns the rights to the game now. Essentially, couldn't Valve just say "Nope. Sorry. Can't help ya." ?

They could, but they won't. Valve is actually a nice group of people.

In for one.

it was quite a few months ago. I don't remember the name of the place I think it was consumerdepot.com or something similar to that. Either way it had VERY low resellerratings. Some of us just lucked out.

Is that Axis and Allies the first one to come out in a different box or another game all together. I have a rather old Axis and Allies game that is a POS and am hoping this is an entirely new game? Anyone?

I just got the game today and after the installation done
"Steam says my CD-Key is already in use when I try to register it"

:disgust:

"Retail Package CD-Key Reset from Valve

If you still have your original printed CD-Key and product CD from a retail package for a Valve product to prove ownership, we can reset your CD-Key however, there is a $10.00 handling fee for this service. "

It does seem that I'll have to pay extra $10 plus shipping cost of sending the original printed CD-Key. [This must include the original packaging the CD-Key was printed on (e.g. the CD jewel case). No copies, photos or scans will be accepted.]

I am wondering about if I can return this item back to pcliquidator

?!?!?????????

CD Key resets are FREE for RETAIL PACKAGE HL2 owners.

"If you need a Half-Life 2 CD-Key to be reset, there is no charge for the
service."

Visit steampowered.com, click on support and read the answer to the
following question:

#10 Steam says my CD-Key is already in use when I try to register it. How
do I reset my CD key?

You will need to mail us the following items to reset the CD-Key:
The original printed CD-Key. This must include the original packaging the
CD-Key was printed on (e.g. the CD jewel case). No copies, photos or scans
will be accepted.
Please ONLY SEND THE ORIGINAL PRINTED CD-KEY. DO NOT SEND YOUR CDs OR OTHER
PACKAGING.
Your email address, phone number and mailing address.
The Steam Account Name that you want the CD-Key assigned to.
$10.00 (US Dollars). Only money orders or a bank cashier check in US Dollars
will be accepted. For Half-Life 2 Retail Package owners, there is no charge
for this service. We cannot process incomplete CD-Key reset requests. If
you cannot provide all of the above items, we will be unable to help you and
will return your payment. [/quote]

The first and second time connecting is a pain in the arse but after that its tolerable. About 1 minute to play.

You "only" have to wait a minute each and every time you play a game that you bought? :disgust: What's next, cars that make you wait a minute before putting them in drive?
