My local CC is ALWAYS out of stock on every single deal they advertise no matter when I get there. I get a strong impression they just don't stock on any item they have in the ads. I did get Pitch Black for $5 this week, but they only had one copy on shelf and it was hidden away in the piles of other movies. One of the CCs 17miles away from here shows as in stock so I will try to PM HL:Episode 1 at walmart/BB. Do you guys think Warcraft III Battle chest box is worth $27?

Warcraft III Battlechest is a MUST if you love RTS...I bought mines two Christmases ago at Best Buy but it costed $39.99, but I also got StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood Wars for free!

You will just LOVE IT if you haven't played it (I normally play custom maps because I suck at the regular game)

And yes, it is worth every penny. Like the ad says, $12 dollars off!

What the? How did you PM successfully at BB if CC was out of stock?

Damn, I wish there were more rookie employees (trainees)...

$6.79 FTW!!!!!!!!!!

I went to Best Buy and bought a copy for $19.99. Walked over to the customer service/returns area. Pulled out the Circuit City newspaper ad and asked for the price match (+10% of the difference). 2 minutes later I walked out with my copy that cost me $6.79 plus tax.

WOOT!
🙂 😉 😀 :Q 😎     :cookie:

LOL? You bought it for full price and then PMed it ON THE SAME DAY? LOL!

Now that is taking advantage of PMing. Very very nice tactic there, devil!

Nothing new about that. I paid the $21.whatever (19.99 + tax) then went straight to the customer service desk, and they gave me back the $$$. 23 secs after purchase, got my money back.

The real STUPID thing is, if you PM at the register, they do NOT give you the extra 10% difference. So don't do that.

The thing is I don't really enjoy rts (although I did in the past), especially from blizzard. I'm more of a C&C man. That's why I'm thinking is it worth it or is it not? I'll probably get starcraft since it's only $8, but I don't know about WIII.

do you know if a printout from the weekly ad off circuitcity.com will be sufficient for PM at BB, or do I need to find a paper copy from the store or the newspaper?

Update from Columbia Missouri---

Circuit city refused to do a rain check: "We don't do rainchecks."

Went over to Best Buy got an immediate unquestioned pricematch--no problems whatsoever. Also used my Best Buy preferred member card on the purchase.

Cha-ching !

Thanks for the tip!

Pricematched to Walmart. 😀 Interestingly enough it appears walmart systems have a protection built in if the price difference is too great when pricematching - had to wait for manager to override the system.

Thanks OP for two games at less than the price of either one! (HL2 E1 and Diable II) Now my wife won't see me for weeks....

Hmm...if you like C&C then...maybe you might not like it. You should try to borrow it and see if you like it. Or, you can just buy it now and return it when you have got a taste of what its like and hate it.

They probably calculate by percentage. After all, how often does a competitor sell product for >50% off?

You can't return open software.

Whoops! What I meant was buy it right now for $27.99 + tax and hold on to it (remember, you have 90 days to return unopened stuff, except "computer" stuff). During those 90 days, you can just borrow Warcraft from a friend of yours and if you like it, keep the game. Otherwise, just return it and know that you are returning a great deal 🙂

Well I could dig out that pirate version I downloaded eons ago but never bothered to install it... :rolleyes; Suppose goes to show I'm not a big fan of blizzard games.

HL2: E1 $19.99 @ BB (no tax in OR)
PM CC price $7.99
minus 10% of the difference $1.20

FINAL PRICE: $6.79
wooooooo!

About an hour in to it, and so far so good. Was glad to finally "get out" and be able to use more than the friggin grav gun...

The gravity gun is one of the most flexible weapons in the game. You can pull enemies to you and use them as a shield, grab random bricks, barrells etc to use as ammo. Knock enemies around with...its the swiss army knife of weapons 🙂

Wish i could pick this game up... i get so dizzy/nauseated if i play for more than 30 minutes of HL2. Same with Oblivion, but not as bad as HL2.

Can only play 20-30 minute max and then need to rest. Anyone else with this problem?

i see it reported here . . . do a google search . .. there are limited solutions

. . . and that is an excellent price for Ep1 . . . finally something will break me away from Oblivion . . . for a few hours
[565 hours into Oblivion] 😛

how do you find time for so much gaming? respect...

I went in on Tuesday to see if they restocked anything (Lynnwood, WA). No luck, it was completely gone.

They also advertised God of War (PS2) for $16.99. That was completely gone too.
