I am looking for options here, but all I see is a GF4 MX440.

Are there other half-height video cards available that are good (enough) for gaming?

(btw - I am building a small, portable pc.)

Thanks!

I've seen a PALIT brand 5200 that has a board only half-hieght; the metal bracket is full height itself, but if the board can be half-height, then it's likely there's a half-height card out there somewhere.

I was under the impression that the FX5200 (440's replacement) wasn't as good as a MX440...

I'll check on that 4200 =) btw - which brand 4200?

I have an Asus v9520 GeForce FX 5200 and it shorter than most. Its not to bad, but could be better for games.

The keyword you're looking for is "Low Profile" ;)

The most powerful LP card you'll find at the moment is a Powercolor Radeon 9600SE, which suffers from the problem of a 64-bit memory bus.

The 5200's are slow, but they're not MX440 slow.:p It's really a GF3/GF2 comparison in terms of performance, where the GF3(5200) will win.
