Half Birthday calculator?

your half birthday is 6 months before/after your real birthday. how is that hard to understand?
But which one? Before or after? If it is after then it is before your next one but if it is before then it is after your last so it's like it is twice, two things at the same time. It is very confusing.

If your birthday is Jan 1, your half-birthday is 6 months later: July 1.

That would be true if the days of a year were split equally among the months. A "half birthday" is not a clean 6 months so much as half the 365 days. As mentioned before there is also the 366 day quadrennial years.

you're over-thinking it. 12 months in a year. 6 months is half a year. you have one birthday each year. half birthday is 6 months from your real birthday.

You are underthinking it. Try the website out and you will be shocked to learn that your half birthday could land on a different day of the month. Like I said it is in the phrasing of what a "half birthday" is. The website also tells you how many days you have been alive.

Historical context: The Incas conducted a semi-annual census of their empire (I know, anal beyond all reason) and people's ages were calculated not in years but by the number of censuses in which they were counted. So someone who was twenty was ten years old.
