half a million for a 2 bedroom condo

i am looking for a house/condo/telephone booth and so my dad had me check out something today. It was a 2 bedroom condo on the ghetto outskirts of Palos Verdes and the asking price was 450K.

Later I was telling my dad that before the last two years, that would have gone for maybe 200K. People in socal are nuts.

Yeah it's not even so much the price by itself, but when you go see it, you realize it's basically a spit polished little apartment that you're paying half a million for.
