Hair today, gone tomorrow. Say bye bye to Pony Tail. (With pics)

Wow now that's drastic. Why did you decide to go that far? Military?

I figured I'd go all out...

I kept it shaved for 5 years or so after that. After having it shoulder-length or longer for such a long time, it was very freeing to not have to worry about my hair.

I've grown it to a normal length now so I don't end up like Elaine's boyfriend on Seinfeld (not knowing he's balding).

Yeah I think you probably look better either with the longer hair or the way you do now with normal length hair. I know I shouldn't be stereotyping given how long I had long hair (long hair = hippie dope addict etc..) but to me shaved heads on slim guys always seems either skin heady or trashy looking. You look good in the 1st pic.

Or cancer patients... 😉

Seriously though, it was a comfort thing. I was working outside in the Texas heat, so having it buzzed was much cooler.

I love getting haircuts. I get one every 2-3 weeks. If I won the lottery, I might one every third day. 😉

I have kept my hair short since 1984.

Been there, done that. I don't think I have any before and after pics though. I grew my hair out for about 8 years. It was a good foot longer than yours.

I miss it sometimes.. like at concerts.. lol

Don't you ever get bored on the same style for 25+ years? Change it up a bit?

BTW where is that pic taken? The harbour and foreground mountains looks like Vancouver a little. However your info says CA. But the really high mountain in the back makes me thing Seattle or something?

It looks good now, but I've gotta say I prefer it long. I'd have to see you in person to make a final judgment, but I'm biased towards long hair in general.

Yeah, or just people in general who look like a thug or punk rocker or whatever.

I'm not going to put down your style, even if I don't like it, but how do you people get jobs?

If you're good at what you do, a lot of places don't care how you cut your hair...

Of course, it depends heavily on what field you are in.

Yeah it's going to take a few days before I can tell you if I like this better or not myself. Others say it's better. It certainly is less maintenance and I won't have to worry about the drain clogging again. But if I don't like I can always grow it back again.

Haven't had a job in a year. But I worked at 7-11 for 4 years as an assistant manager and then manager with that hair. Yes it is sort of a bottom of the barrel type of job but it is customer and food oriented. No one had issues with the hair. But I was very good at the job IMNSHO.

Funny most of the drug dealers I've seen had short hair. 😀

one of the most successful drug dealers id ever seen would dress like he worked in an office and drove a used champagne colored camry on hubcaps. the low-key thing worked like a charm until he became addicted to coke...

Looks better ya filthy hippie!! 😛

As many here may remember, I did the same thing about 1-1/2 years ago...

About a week later, the whiskers came off too.

PICS SNIPED

Yes I remember that. :awe:

So do you still have the pony tail or did you throw that away? Feels a little strange keeping it around the house but it also doesn't feel right throwing it out given the amount of time it took to grow and the fact it was with me all those years.

Make a bracelet out of it. It would look good with sterling mounts.

I went without a haircut for about 3 years or so. Shaved it all off and went bald when I decided to get rid of it.

If I ever decided to go with short hair, I'd shave my head.

Check your scalp first though lol. I found out the bad way that I have 2 giant moles on top of my head. They're flat but really ugly. I haven't shaved my head since.
