Hair removal?

I shaved my chest and abs last night (i'm a bodybuilder) just to see what i'd look like and i have to say that i'm impressed. Main complaint though is that because i shaved with a Mach3, the hairs weren't fully removed, so my skin isn't as smooth as me (not to mention girls) would like it to be. So what are my options in terms of hair removal? What do people usually do?

Also, should i go for full body hair removal? Hair on my thighs is bothering me, but i don't know about having hairless arms and legs - it's kinda hard to imagine what that'd be like.

Actually it feels kind of naked as it were. As little hair as you have on some parts of your body removing it will make you feel cold a lot more.

As far as non-shaving options for removing hair I suggest Nair. It works on most areas, save for the pubic area. (It causes burns there) Most of it has growth-stunting stuff in it, which means you have to Nair-up a lot less often. If you want permanent removal the best at the moment is apparantly laser hair removal. It doesn't work on really light hair -- at least not well -- but it's a lot less painful than electrolysis and takes less time.

Go to a salon & ask them to do it for you, or hit up an AOL women forum or the alike for help.

That stuff is pretty good and they have a male version.

It is similar to Nair.

Again, beware genital areas.

Well, if you really want to know, I've removed lots of bodily hair in several different areas and tried several of the different products.

Girl here! First hand experience of hair removal products.

Wax it off.. it will hurt for a few seconds after it but it wont regrow for about 3 weeks..

Nair.. all that does is just burn the hair off at skin level. It grows back just as fast as shaving. AND it leaves chemical type burns. BEWARE of nair even if you dont get a burn the first time when you use it you will get one eventually

Epilstop.. bogus scan... its basically nair.

So in my opinion..

Its probably too short right now to wax it yourself. Hair has to be about 1/8-1/4" to grip the wax properly. BUT they do sell wax strips in the store if you want to buy them and do it yourself or have someone do it for you. Sally hansen has good strips. and they work well.

To get smooth right now though, just take some shaving cream/soap/conditioner (believe it or not makes for good shaving cream) and a bic razor and shave away. Will stay smooth a few days but atleast you dont risk a Nair burn.

Cream! For the love of God, use the cream. The wax can pull and stuff. Get the real Nair, not the bikini line stuff or whatever.

youre gonna get ingrown hairs and its gonna hurt like a bitch... nair also really really sucks at hair removal... its just like shavin where the hair comes back after a couple of days... I want something that will last a couple of weeks...

All i can say is WAX WAX WAX!!!
if girls can do it and stand the pain, so can guys. this will last the longest and usually you wont get ingrown hairs. to decrease the chances of the ingrown hairs, put rubbing alchol on your skin for a few hours after you get it done.

But one word of advise, get it done at a nice salon. that makes a big difference.

The idea of waxing scares the bejabbers outta me, but I kinda wonder if it would be worth it to not have to shave my legs for a few weeks. Where do you pick it up in the store? I've looked around briefly for it and never seen anything.

Wax is pretty good but, in my experience, can leave some hair because of the length required for usage. Also, you must let it grow back long before you can wax again.

For shaving, I recommend Paul Mitchell Super-Charged Conditioner. It's a hair conditioning product, but works superbly for shaving and even recommends using it for shaving on the label.

IIRC, guys don't like girls with charred legs. I would assume the same goes for girls liking guys with charred chests.
