GPUs went thru the roof recently, now MBs are going to do the same.
Even if the price drops like the H is predicting, it will still be above $200 when the smoke clears.
What really blows my mind are the kids who want to buy one, and put a 3000+ in it.
Why does that blow your mind? FX-55 speeds for $145. Now we can easily afford two ultras/GT's instead of throwing money away on the processor. I've always bought lowest end and clocked to highest ...feel like I'm getting ripped off otherwise. CPU price/performance starts scaling really bad after the first two speed grades.
$145 3000
$196 3200 = 33% more money for 11% more mhz
$295 3500 = 103% more money for 22% more mhz
$630 3800 = 330% more money for only 33% more Mhz
Well you see the pattern and all the speed increase is negated by overclocking.
PS I wish they made a 939 2600 1.4Ghz for $80 since the DFi reportedly clocks above 360HTT

This paying more than $100 for a processor bites.
