I saw on the History Channel that same guy. They are doing a Restore American Sounds or something like that now. They are ripping everything old like that to .WAV 192kbps and storing it on servers in some archive....

That dude showed how he would restore those old wax reels. He wouldn't give away his secret in how he repaired them, but most of them are one of a kind, so if one is cracked in two, he fixes them, then rips the sound and records it with a computer.

I guess he will have one hell of a time fixing that one ! hahaha

yep, that was a cool show. This guy saves music records over 100 years ago on those wax drums.

Hahahaha. That was hilarious. "ffff.... sh!t." Hahahahahaha! I feel sorry for the guy, but dayum that was funny.

I can't stop laughing at this!! Seems like the type of thing I might do. LOL!
And good old Chris breezed through it pretty well. I remember when he was just the webmaster of a little site called lockergnome.com then he got the job hosting on techTV. "Geek used to be a four letter word, now it's a four figure one!"

You can only hope he already got the recording off that one into a digital medium. He is way too nervous to be on TV.

Yeah, he was shaking like crazy, you would think with his experiences of being in front of camera, he'd be more relaxed. LOL.

Ouch. I laughed but I feel really bad for the guy. He was shaking so bad and obviously incredibly nervous, then something like that happens, it'll probably haunt him for awhile. Poor guy.

I call deliberate.

It definitely looks like he squeezes it hard with his left hand.

:Q I almost woke my g/f up I laughed so hard!! I think it's the real deal, I've been kinda following that guy and those sound archiving stories the last few weeks on the media. Poor guy, I think he was just nervous. OMG, I can't stop laughing just thinking about it again!
