okay.. I just got my brand new tbird system.. and it's my actual first system.. I need to partition the drives to get it set up for a triple boot <nt, 98 and linux> and I already tried installing NT without it.. and NT doesn't see the hard drive.. but the comp does.. cuase it sees it in dos.. what do I do? I tried to run partition magic.. but I didn't know how to work it.. and I'm nervous about trial and erroring it.. I don't want to f__k up my new diamond max drive!! (can partition do irriversable damage or changes)??? please please... thanks.

Just jump in there & partition all before installing oses.

You can convert a fat32 to fat16 but you are limited to 2gigs with fat16. make your C: 2 gigs fat16 & install NT4 there. you can install win98 on D: (fat32) .

Be sure to install win98 before you install nt4,this way you'll have the nice menu at boot up to select the os to boot from. :)

Good luck.

reformatting it will kill anything on the partition. fdisk is often uncooperative trying to remove a fat32 and make it a fat16 (at least with NT4 startup disks) Dont guess ive tried the fdisk on the 98 cd... it might let you make it fat16. making it ntfs might be a problem when in a non-NT OS.
