i dont know if this is a compliment to my car-- or makes fun of somebody in an LS1..

did he even think for a second i would try to race him??? He pulls up next to me at the stop light, revs his engine and looks over at me.. i just started laughing.

its a sad day when LS1's go around picking on 4cylinder sedans. I mean, i know my car is fast.. its not that fast though.

Maybe he wanted to give you an ego boost 😀 Hehe, that being said, a kid in a Matrix XRS or Cooper S could have beat you off the line 😀
 
Sometimes us V8 guys will do that just to intimidate ricey looking cars (no offense). We really have no expectation to race, but we just like to remind Mr. "I have a big wing, expensive body kit, and bright yellow paint, aren't I cool" what a fast street car sounds like 🙂

i know for a fact i can take an XRS off the line. Dont know about the cooper S though. Still havent seen one on the road.
 
Maybe he's the same guy that pulled up to my wife while at a light as she was driving our Mercury XR4Ti a few years back.

Snuffed that Corvette quite handily she did.😀

The LS1 is a straight up monster. My friend's bone stock 01 z28 ran a 12.83 in the 1/4. That is blazin for a stock car. Well it was until the 03 cobra and the LS6. 🙂
 
I've seen Ford Sierra outrunning Corvette in drag strip on local drag race 😉 Everybody laughed when Sierra (fully stock outside, usual white 4-door sedan with little rust etc ) started with Vette, but were rather surprised when Ford won with considerable margin. Of course, Sierra won the whole thing afterwards with very low 12 sec times and speed about 200km/h. It had 2L cosworth engine with turbocharger from Iveco heavy truck 😉 So slow-looking car doesn't always have to be slow 😉

If you see a $50 bill on the floor and no one else is around, do you pick it up?

ie, if you see some slow car and you know you can take it, why not race it?

I've seen Civic DXs with no exhaust but an intake rev at Corvettes. It's stupid @$$ ricers who make the owners of fast cars think they wanna race

(above I wasn't talking about you - I'm saying other people who tried to race the LS1 made the owner think you'd wanna race him)

Unless Rallispec shut down at 40mph the LS1 would have pulled on him like Rallispec was going backwards
