[brag]I had to sacrifice the money I got for Christmas and a video card upgrade, but it was well worth it! I got myself a smack Trek VRX 200, complete with Judy XC stem shock, Cane Creek adjustible rear shock, XT rear derailliur and LX front, Bontrager seat, and Rolf wheelset with Bontrager tires. It has OK pad brakes, but I'm hoping to get disc brakes in the future. And it only cost me $600!!! Hopefully my dad will take me to Wilderness Park tomorrow so I can put it through its paces. 🙂[/brag]

Cool,

Unlike the video card, you can use this piece of hardware for more than 18 months without an upgrade. No overclocking the gears now. 🙂

Blah, mountain bikes are for wussies!!!😛😛

I got a bike for X-mas (BMX if you will)

Specs:

GT Power Series 3 Frame
Robinson Standard Forks
Technique 3PC Sealed Crank
Dave Mirra Signature Seat

And all the other stuff...mine is better!!! 😛

Urbantechie: You can keep your claim if you can do what those kids at the BMX park can do.

Soy: To be honest, I don't know what some things are either. My rear shock has an AC and XC position. What the hell is AC? I thought XC was Cross (X) Country? I'm going to look up bike sites and find more information on that.

daaaaang... that is an ASTOUNDING buy for $600!! 🙂 Congratulations! If you get discs, get the Shimano hydraulics.

Congrats on the new bike, iam still saving up for mines, iam still riding this old school 97 GT LTS, with all sortmen of parts i found in the garage..heh, by summer! Ill have my full XTR setup, santa cruz superlight 🙂

actully, its besides couple of dings and dents in the fram, it looks good as new 😛, no urst yet 🙂

schweet!

the wheels are radially laced too? (like the pic)
<technically, on the front is a radial lace; the rear is a 1x)

I used to build wheels. The more times a spoke crosses another spoke, generally the stronger the wheel. There are of course many other factors such as spoke guage/material, nipple material, rims, etc.

In the pic, the rear wheel has a 1x (one cross). On some of the wheels we used to build for tandems, we'd do a 4x (four cross). While I've been out of the biz for a long time, straight laced/radial/zero cross (like the front wheel, and AMD's rear wheel) was uncommon for mtn. bikes.

sorry I confused ya... PM me if you're really interested.
