It's Mid-Western for Soda...

Mid-Western for Soda???? are you kidding me... how about the majority of the US.

http://popvssoda.com:2998/

specifically this: http://popvssoda.com:2998/stats/ALL.html

TOTAL on the votes:

"pop" = 113541
"soda" = 105500

so there. you are the minority here. 🙂

Uh...your 'majority of the US' statistics include Canada. If you look at the United States only, soda wins with 102287 vs pop with 100637.

😛

But pop wins the electoral college.

You forget the south. It's not pop, it's not soda, it's coke.

No, but it was easier to say the 'pop' fell out of the truck, than to say: "Oh, some Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Hawaiian Punch, Sierra Mist, and some Dr. Pepper fell out of the truck.

I don't order it, but I have heard people order pop before, yes.

That's only the case cuz they're inbred hicks. 😛
oh and because Coca Cola is in Atlanta and basically all of the South/Southeast worships Coca Cola. 😉

For my part, so do I. But I refer to all of that diabetes in a can as pop, unless I want some Coke, then I say Coke. I can't refer to Pepsi as coke, that's just backward... well that and the fact that Pepsi doesn't deserve to be referred to as the almighty Coke. 😉

uh oh not this debate again.

There isn't a debate. Its Soda. Just because http://popvssoda.com:2998/ indicates a majority use Pop does not mean they're right. Fuck, a majority of the US voted for Bush in the last election.

LOL

thread derailment compleat

Folks, its soda. Soft drink is also acceptable. Soda Pop, if you must. But 'Pop' by itself is simply unacceptable.
They're called Soda Fountains for a reason.

Search Soda on image search. Then pop. See which one actually returns soft drinks on the first page.

You're basing your logic on a google image search? And 1 item that is used to dispense a carbonated beverage?

your link is broke too.

Ya know what would really help derail this thread?
How much would you tip if all you had at a restaurant was soda/pop?
