One of my friends whom I told HL2 was scary and he only laughed at me in return has now admitted that it was scary after playing it.

What took you so long to edit the OP? The title was up with no text in the body of the post for a few minutes.

i don't know when i was rollin around in that buggy through the tunnel and hit that massive burned out car road block (ala 28day later?) i was like "oh sh!t! better bust out the shotty". that part was pretty scary cause the fvckers didn't start coming until after you got out of the car and listened to the eriee silence.

HL2 wasn't scarey. Doom 3, now that was scarey. After spilling my soda when the monster jumped out from under the stairs (after 10 mins of playing) I uninstalled it.

Doom 3 > HL2 in terms of scaryness. Straight up hands down. Especially with the lights off, stereo blasting in 5.1.

Yeap. No matter how predictable Doom 3 got, its atmosphere was absolutely amazing.

EDIT: spelling

yeah, the zombie weren't the bad part it was those fast shreiking mothers. too bad they do very little damage. even on hard, the game wasn't that hard. that part would have been much creepier with more zombies and a couple more fast fvcks.

Ban!!!!

The good thing about Ravenholm was how well it was set up, the way Alyx said "that tunnel leads to Ravenholm, we don't go there anymore" was absolutly perfect. The overall level wasn't that scary but the atmosphere was incredible. Haven't beaten the game (loading hl2 makes my HDD corrupt now for some reason)
