So we're driving home on the Long Island Expressway at 115am after celebrating my fiancee's birthday in Manhattan... we're cruising at 60mph easily and all of a sudden... a brick wall... 3-wide... nobody can get through and we're about a 3x4 grid of cars going about 40mph on the friggin LIE! At first I thought it was just an old lady or something not knowing the left lane was a passing lane and she was matching speeds with the other car... but as I got closer I noticed the lowered wheels and the rims and the xenon-like headlamps... a ricer convention! I'd say there were 6 in all... amazing they can pull this kinda thing off on the LIE... and for about 5 minutes, everyone was flashing their lights trying to get these guys to quit playing their little game... finally myself, a cabby, and some Chevy got through after they broke formation for a bit... 2 seconds later... they were doing 40mph again and far behind in our rear-views... god knows how long they've been at it... damn kids toying with traffic with no cops around (?) on the LIE ?! If I cared more, I woulda called the cops... but I'm not allowed to use a cell phone while driving. 😉
 
There's a video of guys holding up the I-405 and a dude in a mustang doing donuts on it in the daytime. Thought it was funny but yeah kinda illegal 😛 And sucks to be the people RIGHT behind them

anyway, that's not new - i've seen it on Wantagh expressway other day going to southern state.
 
Sh*t like that would never happen in a right wing state like Connecticut. A state where most people pack a firearm in the glove box those jokers wouldn't last more than half an hour.

Glad I'm not living in a state where people pull guns out for road rage. No one has a right to use a gun for anything other than self defense when dealing with people.

You misundertand. Neither myself nor Argo were being serious; neither one of us would pull out a gun for something like this. That is irresponsible, immature, illegal, dangerous and stupid. Anyone who does should be arrested.

That's why I carry a digi.camera where ever I go. Get a pic of the lic.plates and email off to the cop shop.

Never see such thing in St. louis before but I always see guys/girls on motorbike doing stunt on highways, last weekend there's this guy doing wheelie on I-70 around 7PM with tons of car behind and around him, crazy stuff i'd say.

I came up to them at about exit 35 and they were still going past exit 41 where I got off.
They would slow down and speed up with each other... they didn't look like they were racing each other... just out having fun showing off their (ugly) beat up cars... they weren't even riced nicely. But what they did with the 3-wide @ 40mph thing.. they were obviously trying to piss people off... that lasted quite a while.
 
Little bastages.

I remember when they dropped the speed limit from 70 to 55. In So Cal a bunch of people decided to actually GO 55 on the funway. side by side. Traffic was backed up for MILES!!
