This morning during a brief presser while he was departing for Colorado, Trump said the person who requested it was "well-meaning".

The tarp was being claimed to being there the day before but removed the day of or something. I forget.
So it appears to clearly be an attempt to shield the snowflake. What's ironic is I think the ship is named after McCain's dad isn't it?

It was originally named after Sen. McCain's father and grandfather. After Sen. McCain's death, it was officially changed to be a reference to all three men.

It was originally named after his dad and grandfather. In 2018 John McCain III was added to the namesake after his passing so it is now named for all 3 generations.
