Oh I get it now, since it didn't happen this time it's fine to do. We only care about it after something bad happens.

Still doesn't make it a harmless prank

Your the type that wants to protect the world from themselves. Shouldn't you be out banning cars or something that kills.

wtf.

Yes they are. Have you never heard of baby swim?

"Children as young as one year can be taught to swim", "Infants 6-12 months old are taught to rotate"

Being taught to do something isn't the same as being "naturally born" whatever. They contradict themselves.

Apparently the first part of my original argument is still valid too.

OK, didn't have time to find a better link. But Infants have a reflex that prevent them from drowning.

Actually I'm the completely opposite. I've received quite a few tickets for speeding and or other things. I normally drive 10 or so over, but not carelessly fast (30mph is just stupid). The difference between that and this video is that they set it up on purpose. I don't drive hoping to kill someone or get in wreck. That would be called an accident.

what if someone had like an ipod or some expensive electronics get messed up cuz of the water

now...that's a tragedy......

I still don't believe that babies are "natural born swimmers". If they were then they wouldn't need classes of any sort to strengthen their skills since it should be natural. I don't really even care about this, what I really is for someone to answer the first part of my post. However, this isn't my thread so I think I've spammed it enough

I was born in june, in the pool in December, or so I'm told. I wasn't taught to swim; I just... did it.

I can't resist flame bait. Show me a link where it shows babies who swim fine without lessons. Then tell me why so many babies drown while left unattended for one minute in a tub or any other source of water and why it was and still is a big issue to so many people.

Babies need to be in water deep enough to swim in, not in shallow water where their muscles aren't strong enough to hold their bodies up from the bottom of the tub. But I know you're just going to keep arguing over it because you have nothing better to do than demand links instead of making a respectable effort to educate yourself with the mighty tool called the internet, so I'll post this and leave it alone.

So I searched google and only found one video on metacafe showing a baby swimming after taking lessons. Every other article was linked to teaching the baby, hence not natural. I have no problem admitting Im wrong, Im just skeptical of this. Good job on the assumption too, I rarely make posts unless I have something to say or inquire about and this happens to be something that sparked my attention.

Keep looking. Just because you haven't found anything on the metacafe website doesn't mean babies aren't natural swimmers. Try a *reputable* medical source.

I searched Google and found the link for the video on Metacafe there.

They may be referencing the diving reflex that infants have.
