Not sure why the dog wasn't trained to tolerate kids to begin with and I have no idea what kind of parent lets a child answer there door.

Sounds like a lack of discipline across the board.

I think you are being a bit quick to judge. This specific dog may have had issues that they didn't know how to deal with. Their other dog is fine right?

And about letting a child answer the door, who knows how old his son is. Could be a highschooler for all we know.

At least the OP had the responsibility to act right now with the safety of his family in mind.

Alkemyst is an arrogant asshole who always knows best. If he says the dog was poorly trained and his son should not have answered the door, then who the fuck are you to argue with him?

He answered the door because he could see it was his friend at the door. He's 8 btw. As for our other dog, we've not had one discipline issue, I don't know how there could be a better dog out there.

We did have discipline problems with Yoda, he was just hard headed and not very smart. He had a couple times when he growled at other kids and he snapped at one but didn't actually touch the kid.

nice personal attack. You still mad you don't really have a muscle car?

Anyway, most dogs really don't need much training. That's how so many of the idiots of the world get by with them.

If the dog has an uncorrectable character issue this should have been discovered faster than 2 years.

Since the dog attacks kids and the OP thinks it's ok his son was answering the door for them; it's clear there is a break down in logic.

Not all dogs are good, just like some people and in fact with all the puppy mills and the like the chances of getting a bad dog is not rare. It's when people don't identify them, then you get another mauling story.

You're like a broken record. Can't your tiny brain inside your big fat head come up with anything else?

Remember when you paid a bajillion dollars for a used BMW?

Dude you're retarded. Maybe you don't know how to raise kids or they lack common sense and are irresponsible or something but my son is smart enough and responsible enough to know the difference between opening the door for a stranger and opening the door for his 7 year old friend that he can clearly see through the fucking window.

As for the dog, like I said earlier, he had not bitten anyone before. A couple of growls and snapping at someone once, that was it. It's not like he had mauled half the neighborhood before this.

umm I am not the retard allowing that 7 year old to be put into harms way by not instructing my son that I will get the door due to our dog I failed to train properly.

You are clearly the problem and do not want to admit it.

If your dog was aggressive like you have told us, you should have NEVER waited 2 years.

Time to be less passive in your life, bro...one dog already down because of it.

Alky isn't human enough to have children.

Sometimes dogs snap. I had a 10 yr old lab that was as nice as can be. then one day it bit a kid who I was babysitting. the kid did NOTHING to it. he was sitting down watching tv. the dog jumped off the coach and bit his leg.

Then 4 months latter it bit a kid outside.

It was a shock. it was well trained and had been around kids its whole life. we talked to the vet and he said sometimes something happens and a dog will do that
