Had sushi for the first time today

A couple friends and I went for sushi today, my first time. We ordered a smattering of everything and I tasted it all. Loved everything which was pretty shocking. I'm wanting to have some again tomorrow...

I have no idea what we ordered and what everything was unfortunately.

Eating sushi for the first time is like getting a tattoo...

You never want one until you have one... then you want more. Nobody else (who hasn't had the experience) understands.

Well, you've already had some (even if you don't know what it was), so go ahead and just ask the waiter what the basics are (they probably have a couple combo plates which are good to start with). When the food's delivered, ask him to point out which one is which so you can slowly learn and remember what each fish looks like.

Looks like you're going to have a fun (and expensive) time learning about sushi 🙂 Congrats!

Yea, I tried it for the first time a couple of months ago and wow. I like most types of fish, but I was not expecting to like sushi all that much but I loved it. In the 3-5 times I have had it since then, I am sure that we never ordered anything too exotic or weird, but I do know that I love the California and Spider rolls. BTW, if you are ever in Dallas, Kenichi has excellent sushi, albeit a bit on the pricey side.
