OMFG The Novacane or whatever they used to numb it is dying off and it's starting to hurt like hell. Right before I go to bed too! I'm gonna load up on some Tylenol hopefully that helps GAH THIS SUX

holy sh!t :Q

glad you're ok though 🙂
Considering it could have been worse....you're quite lucky

have another  for a speedy recovery 🙂

Ouch, I cringed just reading about it.
Had my own snowboarding accident almost 2 yrs ago.
My WRIST looked like this after I tried to jump this ramp.
I went 2 weeks without getting it x-ray.
After someone convinced me to get it x-rayed, sure enough it was broken.
It was healing wrong so they had to re-break it...talk about OUCH !!!
My wrist is never the same after that but still good enough to keep boarding.
Matter of fact, I'll be going back to the spot in FEB.....can't wait.

Don't let a near severed thumb stop you from boarding.
Hope for a quick recovery.

i guess wristguards won't do anything for a sliced off thumb. :Q

how'd you slice it off though? did you run over it with your board? were you not wearing gloves?

I'll never understand why people do this.

GO TO THE FVCKING HOSPITAL WHEN YOU INJURE YOURSELF BADLY FOR CHRISTSAKE!!!

Like that should need to be said...

holy crap.... thats nuts. I dont even need to call up shens ... who would come up with a snowboard accident story that involves severing a thumb (??)

when I read "I look down and, for lack of a better way to put it, my thumb is gone" I gasped

good to hear you're okay, I bet it's a pain typing with one hand eh?

Oh my GOD! Holy crap!! That's INSANE!!! Glad to hear they were able to save it.

I guess the exact mechanics of HOW it got chopped off is pretty irrelevant, but it would still be interesting to know!!! I'm sure you're curious as well. Probably caught it on the edge of the board and *CHOP* off it came.

You're VERY lucky it was your thumb joint that hit the edge and not your WRIST JOINT. 🙁

 <--for a speedy and complete recovery

ps
I hear Competitive Snowman Building is a much safer, yet semi-type-A personality thing to get into 😉
