hacking....

<< This may seem like a shady question, but Im going to ask it anyway. How does one go about hacking? What does it intail? How could I learn about how it could be done. Im really not interested in ripping anyone off or breaking into and doing damage to peoples files. But the concepts and ideas really facinate me. And if anyone could point me to books or online resources Id be very accpreciative.
thanks,
-doug

So, you dont want to learn how to HACK, you want to learn how to CRACK? You want to try and make my life harder huh? Well that's fine. Learn C, learn C++, learn tcp/ip (I mean indepth, tcp/ip illustrated style not tcp/ip for dumbies type bullsht), do searches on the net for source code for exploits and read and understand those. Drop Microsoft now, because cracking with MS is damn hard.

So there you go. Go off little script kiddiot wanna be. Make my life a living fscking hell. I will catch you one day. And then you will be eating your own... Ok I dont want to get banned. Just know you will be in deep doodoo if I ever catch you in a dark alley if you have made me work harder than I should have to 😉

You and I can actually agree on something. Almost as scary as psychoholic and I agreeing on something...

/me sticks fingers in his ears and starts yelling LALALALALALALALALALA

Actually, Im not a big linux fan, but Ill get over that 😉

I have considered getting a windows box just so I can ask stupid questions in forums. Like: win98se or 2k? Or: NTFS or fat32? Or: Check out my secure IIS server! I am also considering picking up a cheap (~$500) box to throw MS' ISA on it so I can bang on that for a while. I have heard good things about it despite it being an MS product 😉

You aren't? :Q Could have fooled me 🙂 What OS are you a fan of, then?

<< win98se or 2k? >>

I prefer Windows 3.1, it's more stable.

<< NTFS or fat32? >>

duh, FAT16 is the way to go. It's much faster than those others!

Microsoft will discover that you installed their product on a cheap computer and force you to upgrade it or die.

Windows 3.1 was cool. It was like UNIX, I can have a gui if I want it I can be at the command line if I dont.

Ok, thank you. Now I can go back to thinking you are a twit 😉 NEVER say that to an OpenBSD fan if he is bigger than you and physically there. So, never let me know you are going to some confrence, I might have to take that statement personally.

j/k 😉

Damn, why don't you guys rent a room. I think dmw16 has a good question. I for instance am a WWII buff. I think Hitler is fasinating...ya he was one crazy f%$#ing bast@rd and I do not agree with anything he did, but he is real..that did happen. I see dmw16's question the same way...He's just fasinated how hackers do it...must admit I am too.

Should you answer his question?..dunno. But if you don't want to, don't post!
