Hacking Chipotle for more food

This is the most useful thing I've read all week. I will be trying this next time at Chipotle.

Chipotle is known for its generous portions and affordable cuisine.
But with a few simple tips, you can get even more food from the popular burrito chain.

Quora user James Pan explained a few of his tips for getting the best burrito possible:

Smile at your server. "Seriously, this is important," Pan says.

Get a burrito bowl. Business Insider's analysis confirms that you get substantially more food by ordering the bowl instead of a traditional burrito.

Ask for a tortilla on the side. This is free.

Ask for extra rice at no extra cost.

Order both pinto and black beans for free.

Get free fajita vegetables.

Ask for two different proteins, for example, half chicken and half steak. "Many places give you 3/4 a scoop of each protein, essentially giving you double protein," Pan said.

Ask for salad dressing, which is also free.

While you'll always pay more for guacamole, Pan says to order it on the side. "You'll usually get more," he says.

Finally, timing is important. "Go late at night, about an hour within closing time," Pan says.
"They'll just keep shoving the burrito until it explodes. Then they double-wrap it."

I always ask for half and half, you do always get more meat. Why would I want salad dressing?

I never get rice or beans and 90% of the time when I ask for double chicken they do not charge for it. I only eat chipotle because its one of the few fast food places you can do low carb.

Also, they don't charge extra for anything except extra meat(when they actually charge for it) and guac(they always charge for it and it is way over priced).

If you're paying $7+ for what is little more than a tortilla filled with rice and beans scamming extra rice and beans with a smile doesn't make you a genius. You're still overpaying for really really really cheap ingredients.

my local chipotle is stingy in this regard. Even though I come by at the end of the day and want to fill up with what is basically going into the trash, they'll give you the same proportions regardless.

.........It's called Mexican food for a reason

*runs away from keyboard*

because portion size is the problem with chipotle
I actually have that problem, I never get beans and I'll sometimes get the onions and peppers but they've started skimping noticeably at the ones around here, to the point where I've been pissed off driving home.

Depends on how you look at it, I have about 6 Mexican places within 3 miles of me, all of which give you way more food for less money than Chipotle. I'd say since I can get more food for less $, regardless of how large their portions are it's still not a lot of food for the asking price.

Chipotle is pretty committed to locally sourced hormone free ingredients. I am happy to pay a little more for that. Cheap mexican food makes me worry more about e coli than value for money...

I always get double meat, for example chicken and extra steak, you get essentially 3x meat. The best part is that every time where I have not ordered ahead of time, I just got charged for 1x steak (same as 50/50).

i can't finish an entire burrito of theirs. however the few times i've had a burrito bowl, i didn't have a problem polishing it off. i usually make two meals out of the burrito, though.

their pork is the best.

Order in decent Spanish and double meat is free most of the time around here.

Heh, around here all the staff mysteriously changed to white almost overnight about a year ago. It was very odd.

I get enough, overstuffing the burritos leads to a nasty mess. I get more pissed about them just dumping the sour cream or salsa on one side, so half the burrito has none. Spread it out!
