hacking a flash demo

i'm new to flash and i'd like to learn from the demos on the web that i like. i looked at flash deconstructor programs, but they require that the demo be saved before they can work on it. i examined programs that 'save' flash files, but they don't appear to be what i'm looking for either.

is there an easier way to do this? any suggestions for good sites that have plenty of flash examples that are downloadable? thanks.
