Hackers

I'm currenlty running Black Ice and I'm having problems with the same guys continually hitting up my system, eventhough I block them. Is there a better program to stop these guys? I had a DNS spoof successfully go through last night. Seeing things like that really makes me worry.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I run zonealarm

zonealarm

I have literaly been pounded by scanners day after day(cable modem)and they have yet to get in 😉

It's free too!

Would it be possible to run Zone and Black Ice at the same time? And if so, would there be any benefits?

LOL, thanks IBhacknU

cheap: if they are pinging your system then theres nothing you can do, maybe contact their isp or something, ZA and BI are just there to prevent break ins.

You can probably run them both at the same time, I ran ZoneAlarm and AtGuard at the same time for a while. If some app doesn't like it then you can shut one down while you keep the other one on. The benefit being if one doesn't stop the hacker the other one might.

how do you set up zonealarm so that IE can run? I can't run AIM or IE with it on. (Sorry if this is real obvious. Maybe I should spend some more time tweaking it.)

Antisocial-Virge--a router by itself would do nothing at all to protect your box. think about it, the person trying to hack you has to go through many routers till it even gets to your box, one more router isnt going to make a difference.

It does if it has NAT built in. Which most do. I think 95% of the hacker thing is just paranoia. Most are script kiddies just playing probing ports or scanning IP's. Just don't have something stupid like File sharing bound to your outgoing TCIP and you'll be ok.

Here is mine here.
