Hackers hit the motherload A-D list celebs nudes

Since all these photos were from iPhones and iCloud, could Apple be sued by these "celebrities"? Or is there language buried and hidden in the terms and conditions that frees Apple from any liability.

No no, you guys missed the point. Apple isn't at fault, the hacker is. Why should a company who takes your money hold any responsibility? That's what terms of service and lawyers are for, to get rid of that nonsense called accountability.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Celeb hack/leaks are nothing new, but this is the largest and most dramatized one that's occurred. It could set some new precedents, but something tells me Apple will not suffer at all over it.

Not strange at all. The feature to access your iCloud photo stream on your other devices is convenient because your iPad or MacBook can access a picture you took with your phone. It's optional, but most people accept / enable it for convenience.

Even if the code on GitHub allows brute forcing passwords, the hackers would probably never crack mine.

Something being hidden in the terms and conditions doesn't make it legally enforceable and it doesn't give Apple an automatic get-out-of-jail free card.

The BBC mentioned icloud in the news report on this issue and they are usually quite circumspect in how they report on stuff nowadays. But, no, I don't think Apple has spoken about this at all. I wouldn't expect them to either, they tend not to say anything then make an announcement in a month or two that an unspecified vulnerability has been plugged.

Yeah I'm not seeing the need for massive excitement because the internet repository of low quality pictures of boobs has increased by an incremental amount.
