Hacker Pschorr Hefe Weisse

Their Oktoberfest is the best, hands down. Too bad it's only offered a few months out of the year! 🙁
 
never had it

the only hefeweissen(sp?) ive had is widmer. im newish to beers, what the hell is the aftertaste from on those? its good with food but i cant drink it by itself out of the bottle (draft is better) because it lingers too strongly

This. It's definitely not a bad Hefe, but I don't think I'd really go looking for it either.

I agree. My favorite is Franziskaner but Erdinger or Augustiner are both good too. I'm not too big of a fan of King Ludwig though.

opposite. ive tried ATLEAST 12 other german wheats... IN munich.. and hacker pschorr is TOPS.

I am big fan of hefe weisse. I need to seek out more of the ones listed here. I will be checking out some of the suggestions in this thread. I have only tried a few but I think my favorite right now is the Franziskaner. I did not like the Widmer. I enjoyed the Weihanstephaner as well. Please post out some more suggestions! 🙂

I am a big fan of HP (after having it many times in germany) but JE is better.
 
For some reason, the imports from the big Munich breweries just never taste the same as when I have them in Germany. My favorite is from a small brewery named Maxlrain a few kilometers from my dad's town. Fantastic weissbier. But then again, what beer isn't fantastic when you're in Germany?

dood you CANNOT drink Weissbier out of a bottle. I want to shoot my roommate in the face whenever he does this. You need a tall thin glass, pour 3/4 of the beer in, shake the bottle so that the remaining yeast in the bottom is floating in the remaining 1/4, then pour that in the glass. They make weissbier specific glasses, but ANYTHING is better than out of the bottle.

edit i said glass instead of bottle.

Me too. Hefe Weisse is the only beer my Mrs. will drink. It could have been the all-expense paid trip to Bavaria that cued her in to good beer, though
