<< Washington National Cathedral Location: Washington, DC What's Cool: While most of the stonework and statues depict biblical figures or scenes from U.S. history, one of the gargoyles on the left tower is the likeness of the dark lord himself, Darth Vader. >>

So there.

Darth Vader is on the National Cathedral. There was a contest in the 80's for kids to pick a new design for a gargoyle and that was one of the winning entries.

They even have a handout in the cathedral that shows you where to find him on the front of one of the towers.

This thread confirms a suspicion I have had for a long time: people rarely bother to read other posts in a thread before they post

ROTFLMAO... Even if it is part of the cathedral, it's still funny. Maybe even funnier.

Haha... that's funny. I would have never figured out that was really part of the site. I still crack up everytime I look at it though.

It would appear this cathedral is good for "out of the ordinary" stuff...

The Space Window on the south aisle of the Cathedral contains a piece of lunar rock that was presented to the Cathedral by the astronauts of Appollo XI.

The main exhibition case of the Rare Book Library often contains the Cathedral's first edition of the King James Bible, printed in London in 1611. This Bible belonged to Henry, Prince of Wales, the eldest son of King James.

More than 150 people are interred in the Cathedral, including Woodrow Wilson and Helen Keller.
