I'd recommend a complete format and re-install of the OS, and then change all of your password again immediately. Its the only way to ensure that you dont have a keylogger on your system, and that it wont come back with your current setup. At least, that is what I would do if I were in your situation.

Well it was a big mess but I hopefully got most of it ironed out.

I had paypal lock the account so no one can send/receive money with it and disputed all the claims. They have refunded 7/10 (will probably take a week for the money to get back to my bank account) and are still working on the other 3 disputes.

Today my bank charged me $400.00 for overdraft fees. The account I had tied to Paypal rarely has money in it, as I keep most of my cash invested. So I got charged $40.00 for each of the 10 transactions. I had to print off all the Paypal info and bring it down to my branch today, the guy I spoke with is only authorized to credit back $100.00 in overdraft fees so he had to send it to the branch manager. He said it shouldn't be a problem getting the entire $400.00 of overdraft fees refunded.

On top of that I couldn't live with the possibility that my computer could somehow be compromised (although I did extensive testing/searching and came up empty) so I formatted it the other day, re-installed everything then changed all of my passwords again. My Paypal account will either be canceled or my bank/credit card data will be removed from it as soon as the pending disputes are resolved.

Let this be a lesson, don't be an idiot like me and leave your bank account tied to Paypal! I'm just lucky that Paypal and my bank were cooperative in this case.

(Duhhhh, solution): Certainly you've got a friend or neighbor who will allow you to use their computer for 10 minutes to change any other important passwords.

I disputed all of the transactions, changed every password to everything I have and ran Norton, Nod32, Adware and AVG (all updated) and did not find any viruses.

So I go out for an hour, come back and there is another $500.00 sent from the account. Despite finding no viruses, and changing all of my passwords.

I disputed everything then called paypal and they said they locked out the account. Do you think there will be any problems getting all of my money back?

Good luck with Pay Pal!

The only secured computer is a computer that's not connected to the internet.

Or he could've busted out his backup HD w/ the fresh OS install clone and used that to change his pw.
