lol, that dude was one of my first fail boat visitor, he was much higher rank than me when I started. Everyday, he would hit me a few times and I'd just hit him once and get a tone of stuffs from him, he's just a sore cvnt. LOL.

I hit evildeliverance about a half hour ago. At that point, he had 62000 credits available and a little over 10,000 infected machines.

He's ranked 316th in mhz, so just about anyone should be able to hit him.

I am currently at a 2:1 ratio of kbps:MHz. My plan is to get the kbps up so I can target higher level players and undermine their point gain so I can rise faster. I am also still searching for the elusive white whale...

Strange, I got HauntedMac for around 150,000 credits before the last tick but then 10 minutes later my attack failed after the tick. He must have been in the process of upgrading his stuff when I nailed him.

Tip: unless you're leaving the computer for several hours, almost always hang on to at least 1 IP - i.e. just wait to use it.

You'll thank me when you have 3 IPs, hit someone for 600,000, and realize that was only 23% and not have to wait a half hour to hit them again.

Darn It! Iamwiz got the level 8 virus half a day before I did. I can't quite get back into the lead.

Normal. My kbps is 2/3 of mhz yet I am ranked 40 spots higher in kbps.

I have a 4 to 1 ratio in terms of mhz to kpbs, yet only a 60 rank difference.

At your level there are larger differences in total vs. rank.

Ignore the exact numbers I'm throwing out here, but say at rank 300 to go up one rank of mhz or kbps you may only need a 1-2K but going up one from rank 100 would require 50K. That leaves more room for variance in ratios, though I am surprised to see that big a difference....

You say defense is normal, but I stacked attack until recently. I still have more kpbs than mhz, and I didn't ignore virus. I upgraded as I felt I could afford it w/o being vulnerable or sacking my attack /defense. I got rank 6 virus about half way through the day, and averaged ~16K/tick (estimating high). That's 384000 credits, I looted 848,493 and it was an average day. I had quite a few "you loot 0 credits", but a couple 100K hits.

Virus isn't even paying for itself yet, but I'm only ~4 days in.

If you can keep at 16k a tick that is 768K per day... and 16k per tick isn't much.

It looks like you either turtle up and go defense/virus or attack. Seeing these guys lose thousands of machines makes me wonder.

There's no real answer to this question, I think it's simply a matter of strategy and how you want to play. You always want virus/defense up there so I don't think ignoring any one aspect is good.
