I discovered how to twist reality in half by downing three Mountain Dews, then playing F-Zero (SNES), wip3out (PSX), and Extreme-G 2 (N64) back-to-back. I'm surprised I can type this well, I can't walk. 🙂
I'm sure some games do this to certain people, so here's the topic for discussion:
Which videogames really suck you in, leaving you disoriented or drained when you walk away?

I used to get lost in MYST for hours. Riven was even worse, I'd stop exploring and it would take me a good 20 minutes to fully realize that Riven != reality.

I just remembered two good ones: Tetrisphere and Wetrix (N64). Talk about unnerving, panicked gameplay. :Q

I'd have to say:

1. Quake 2 (Single-Player & Multi-player)
2. RollerCoaster Tycoon
3. The Sims

Don't laugh at my selections 😱

Man, Tetris rocked... I used to play it so much that I'd see shapes falling everywhere I looked... now that's weird... 🙂

The first few times I played through the first episode of DOOM. I only got to play it at night and with headphones on. 🙂 It was like playing a nightmare but I couldn't stop!!!
