He'd didn't give it much of the ole college try.

He kinda got started off on the wrong foot when he tried to 'launch' his campaign by attacking Obama the same week that Japan had the earthquake/tsunami. No one was listening, no one cared.

I guess with Mississippi placing 50th in half the stats they track might have had something to do with it, or not. Still, maybe a VP contender for a robotic mormonic northerner lacking downhome appeal?

To be fair, MS was at the top in obesity (I think LA and MS fight for this spot each year), and one of the lowest in income before Barbour.

Barbour is more of a behind the scenes puppet master kinda guy, which is why he was such a good chairman for the Republican Party rather than a presidential hopeful.
