gz files

I have some linux .gz files that I need to uncompress.. my w2k machine with all the winzip/winrar/etc can't unzip it.. anyway of doing this on a w2k machine ? thanks..

winzip and winrar should handle them fine, I would suspect they're corrupt.

use winrar and try the repair option.

Winace should be able to decompress tarballs too.

.gz files are not necessarly tarballs.

What I meant to say is that winace can handle gzipped files, as well as a tarball.
