GWB solves all mideast problems by condemning Iran.

Off to the Mid-east goes GWB to rescue the peace conference which has degenerated into a low grade open warfare in the mideast.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200...W6cvjJItnS1J4WV7qs0NUE

Somewhat humorous really, GWB starts with the standard bash Iran general principles even though Iran is basically uninvolved in the direct Israeli Palestinian conflict. Then he tells Israel to quit building on the settlements when he should have said this months or years ago, and then tells the Palestinians to quit letting terrorists use its territory when all kinds of different groups will use the territory regardless of what their government says. All fine and laudable goals that the decider has decided, but I very much suspect GWB forgot the greatly needed magic wand. I think the various sides will give GWB a polite hearing and then go right back to what they have been doing for the past 60 years.

Methinks being the decider in the mid-east is not near the fun it is in the US. When GWB leaves, I am sure he will invent some more lame excuses for lack of progress.

Magic wand? You mean like a 9-11 event to emotionally whip people into warmongering? That kind of magic wand?

Are you saying that GWB was behind 9/11? That's what I am comprehending from that statement/

Not answering for PC Surgeon here, but personally, I haven't seen any more evidence for the terrorist "theory" than I have for the conspiracy "theory". I'd really like to NOT be fed bullshit by the administration, but we all know that's all they're good at.

He did, years ago. Of couse it is just lip service now as it was then. Our government hasn't made any honest effort in the last three decades to end the conflict, and Bush most certainly isn't the one to buck that trend.

The problem is that the 911 magic wand that works in the USA does not in the mideast. While
911 sized events are rare, some low grade of continuing terrorism is a daily part of life for all sides.

Obviously Bush is looking for a reason.

I believe Bush is seeking any rationale he can muster in order to pick a fight with Iran. I seriously believe that he wants to go to war with them before his term is up.

And although I'm not a tinfoil hat wearer , the following statement from Iran got my attention:

The Pentagon released dramatic video of Sunday's encounter, which occurred in the narrow channel critical to the shipment of oil from the Persian Gulf. Iran's navy said the video was faked, according to state-run media.

Since Bush has already proven that he will lie to the American people and manipulate things to get his way, I would not put this past him.

To what end? Our enemy is alive and kicking. Aren't tools supposed to work?

Topic: GWB solves all mideast problems by condemning Iran.

And by holding hands with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah, kissing his (ass) cheek ...

And giving $60 bil to Israel today

To what end? Seriously? To funnel billions of dollars to his war profiteers. To solidify his power and advance the neocon agenda. To erode civil liberties and silence critics. Where have you been for the last six years?

I don't think the plan is to use force against Iran, yet. It is simply to continue the pressure and the evil perception. They did this to Iraq for a decade. If the Dem's win in '08, the then president will be pressured to keep the pressure on Iran, much like Clinton did during his reign in regards to Iraq. Then, it is simply a waiting game, waiting for a 9-11 like opportunity.

Only one candidate is against the continuation of this screwed-up kind of policy.

No, do not get it wrong bamacre! We want someone to be president that increases government power, has corporate interests at heart instead of the people interests, wants endless wars for their military industrial complex and increasingly shaves away civil liberties. Why? So we can bitch later! Duh! <finger in cheek>
