I was starting to feel a little sympathy for Bush untill I read this...

President George W. Bush considered dumping Vice President Dick Cheney from his 2004 reelection ticket to dispel the myths about Mr. Cheney’s power in the White House and “demonstrate that I was in charge,” the former president says in a new memoir.

He was going to fire Cheney to demonstrate he was in charge and had the real power. It was Cheney's idea! Laughable at best.

Cheney not only manipulated Bush into keeping him on but also made him think it was his own idea to do so. Benjamin Linus would be proud.

I'm pretty sure this is a wider held belief among the African-American community. Is GWB calling them racists too?

That sounds pretty racist dude you should tone it down. Saying that all African Americans feel the same way about Kayne West. Why? Because they're the same color? Your logic is flawless sir.

GWB doesn't care about POOR people. It's not racist that they happened to be black.

I think that most rich people don't care about poor people just as most poor people can't identify with rich people's problems. Most people don't have any idea how much it costs to insure a yacht.

I agree, and Cheney is an evil genius. Any man that can shoot a judge in the face and have him apologize is scary.

Mr. Cheney did get himself selected to head the committee to choose Governor Bush's running mate, and miraculously discovered that he himself was the most qualified for the position...

Was there a conscious decision not to promote this book until after the election? I had heard not one peep about this book until Wednesday and now it's everywhere.

I liked that answered as well.

Where in that quote did GWB call Kanye a racist exactly?

All liberals think this therefore it must be true. Same as all liberals equate Bush with Hitler.

Funny how they don't ever say he must have hated rich white people for allowing 9/11 to happen and killing more people tht day than blacks died in Katrina.

It's blind partisan hackery plain and simple. They can't see the truth past what they are told by their leaders.

If it saved my countrymens lives, I'd tell them to do it too.
It's not a mater of being morally right, it's a matter of saving lives. You can preach about how moral you are to not get information that saves lives, but waterboarding is a mental torture that doesn't disfigure or maim.

I imagine the GOP didn't want voters thinking too hard about what happened in this country between 2001 and 2008 when they went to the polls.

Can't say that I blame them...

Well I don't know about the promotion part, I remember hearing about it a decent amount throughout the year. Definitely not a "secret". Obviously as the book draws closer to release you will hear more about it. Heres an article about it from last summer:
