I'd love it if he would, simply because then I'd know what I could wear for him that he really liked seeing on me. It won't be happening though, I'm sure. Not from lack of confidence, but simply from lack of interest in clothing.

I wouldn't buy clothes... mainly because I had VERY different taste in clothes than the girls/women I've been with. I couldn't figure out what the criteria for "good" clothes was in their opinion. Some of the clothes they wore were just... bad in my opinion. :)

Oh... and... the ones I'm into don't normally wear dresses, so that in particular is kinda out of the question.

I would, and i have, brought dresses for my girlfriend(s).
The size is the biggest problem, you don't just ask: "Gee, what size clothes do you wear" :Q
If you don't know the size exactly, summerdresses are a nice escape (the ones with the strap in the back)
My succesrate is 5 out of 6 :gift:

i've done it with much success, sort of.

she just told me her size, and i bought 3 in case they didnt fit right. So i went to the store, bought 3 i liked, and she tried them all on. 1 of the 3 didnt fit right at all, but the other two fit like a glove. so i just picked the one i liked.

she ended up keeping both cause she liked them as well.

downfall?

Yes, i ended up buying her 2 dresses, when it was supposed to be 1. i'd still be paying them off now if she kept the third. next time i buy three, im going to a macys one day sale......forget the brand name botiques.

hey i do that all the time, i have no idea what size my girl is. i buy the dress based on what i think that would look like on her and how it would fit. i mean, she is my girl for the past 3 years so we know each other to an extent. :-} i've been successful on the dress buying thing. i dont mind at all, i would go out and buy her underwear or what ever. I'd like to think i have no shame what so ever. I've bought countless condoms and things like pads because my female friends were placed in situations where they couldnt leave the car/ house whatever toi buy those things. before this get evil on me, im not saying im out buying pads all the time, i think the last time i did that was about 6 months ago. so dont get any wierd thoughts toward me.

hehe, I got lucky in that a friend I worked with - she made clothing, bags, etc. in her spare time. So once I got her to make a dress for my ex-gf. They'd met so the size worked out fine and all I had to do was pay the bill.

i have always wanted a guy to just go out and buy me a dress he would like to see me in.

Since I like to shop for clothes and things with the wife, I would simply say, "babes, lets go to Nordstroms so I can buy you something really nice. Complete with new shoes and all. Lets go.."

:)

I don't know who has more clothes...her or me.

Guys, it really really helps to be in touch with your feminine side. Those guys who are selfish and don't "share" in some of the things their woman likes to do are destined to loose that woman to another man who will do those things.

but are there any guys in real life who would dare to do that?

I just saw your post about this...

I buy clothes for my girlfriend all the time. I've bought her dresses, slacks, lots of shoes (mainly high heels I'd like to see her in), and of course lingerie. I don't buy cheesy stuff... for instance most of the lingerie I've bought is La Perla. I guess I have no shame... or maybe more confidence than most men. *grin*

The last thing I bought for her was a really nice Louis Vuitton purse, because she said she'd always wanted one.

She definitely appreciates the presents.

If I was given the guarantee that she 1) Won't kick my ass and 2) She'll actually like it, then I might. But I don't have confidence in my fashion sense. I'm afraid she'll get mad for spending so much money on an ugly dress.

The problem is I always end up buying something so amazingly skanky that muh woman will never wear it. :)

Ahhh the Metros got another one.

Funny stuff.

but I never considered myself a metrosexual. Just someone who is confident, but not cocky.
There is a fine line there between the two. Some guys like to look good, some guys don't give a rats ass what their hair and body looks like because they spend all their free time behind the monitor. :)

Get out and see the sights man. There is a great big world out there. ;)

i guess this is why there are so many YAGT's here.

two women here just posted that they would love it if there guys bought them dresses. i'm willing to bet your girl might feel the same way.

go ahead and keep buying your girl gift certificates and kitchen appliances.
iamme, you are a true genius! heed the man.

And yet you were the one just saying I was being stereotypical.
yeh, what of it?

2 supposed females on a message board and 1 guy on a message board saying his girlfriend like it, does not mean all females will.
are you saying i am not female?

LOL - good job at ignoring the real point and going after something minor that doesn't even matter. I guess you really are a woman.

I almost fell out my chair laughing.

Absolutely...

I have no problem sharing what I think looks good on my woman.Hell I even buy her intimate apparel that looks great (imho).I have never had a woman tell me I was assuming too much or that had her assume that I thought she was fat etc... . As a matter of factI have yet to find one that wasn't flattered.

Hard to have confidence at times in today's society with the way certain women have begun to treat men.
