actually, I am mildly surprised at the mostly negative responses. I thought there would be more people who might see the positive benefits. e.g., from an evolutionary/ biological perspective, do you really think your testicles were designed to be squashed up in tight underwear + trousers..? 😛

I should have clarified ... wearing women's clothing styles, a la skirts.

You don't have to go too far back to a time when it was unheard of for women to wear pants. Obviously men's pants and women's pants today are designed differently, but it essentially began as a male-only clothing style.

Personally, it's not something I can see myself wearing, but that doesn't mean it won't become more accepted and/or fashionable.

there is nothing intrinsically feminine about a skirt. indeed, the skirt is probably better suited to men that are trousers. skirts allow your bits to dangle free and give better comfort. Men who wear skirts no doubt have higher sperm counts. Throughout history, men have worn skirts. Jesus Christ got about in a skirt. So did the Roman soldiers. This idea that a skirt is only suitable for females is absurd when viewed in a historical context! :|

It makes sense. The nards adjust themselves to be at the correct temperature to be the most productive. Underwear could possibly interfere with that.

all of my pants fit loosely so nothing is squashed.

Well, that might work for the O/P, but given my sexual preferences, I really don't need easy access to my posterior anatomy

On a more serious note, I wear whatever the contemporary moires establish as the male attire - this establishes me a male, which ultimately is the natural way of signaling my sexual preferences.

All this transgender / cross dressing stuff is really another way of signaling other sexual preferences. If you're a guy dressing like a woman, you're really signaling your sex as female. Same goes for this skirt thing.

It is one thing if you are Scottish... a kilt is fine for certain occasions, but that to me is just stupid.
To each is to own though. If women can wear pants, men can certainly wear skirts.

I haven't worn tighty whities since I was probably 12 or 13. And I don't wear the skin tight Euro jeans so my pants don't fit me like a glove.
 
Ok, say we do agree that historically there's no reason for a skirt to be considered women's clothing. But riddle me this: How the heck are you going to use a urinal wearing that without showing everyone your ass? I suppose you could put a fly on the skirt to get around it, but the ones in those pictures don't have any.
 
I'd be crawling in my own skin, and I consider myself a very tolerant and empatheric fellow.

Just the thought makes me uncomfortable. But to each his own I suppose.

These are kilts. They aren't skirts. Kilts don't have to be plaid.
 
Who cares if historically men wore skirts? Would you wear a tricornered hat as normal clothing?
Men once went naked too. Should we bring that back as well?
Fact is, in today's society skirts are for women. That's all there is to it as far as I'm concerned.
