Guys who don't button their top 2 shirt buttons

Why do some guys do this? If you're not a porn star or laying out on the beach, you have no business "showing off" your chest hair. It doesn't look good, at all. A coworker came into work today looking like this, so I asked him, "Porn star in your spare time, huh?" I don't want to see his bare chest. How can anyone think that looks good?

Beat him over the head with a rusty pirate ship anchor, works all the time for me.

I always have the top 2 buttons down. The very top button is for when you wear a tie or you're a square. The second button doesn't display chest hair. The 3rd button does.

Top 2 are OK. The 3rd button is for porn star / vacations in Hawaii and you're pimping out the 3rd button.

If I unbutton the top two, I'm showing more chest hair than needs to be shown. Well, I wear a white t-shirt under my shirt anyway, so I guess you wouldn't see it. But that would look even worse, a white T-shirt and 2 or 3 buttons open? HAH!

I'm asian, so I have no chest hair. I bought fake chest hair for halloween and kept the top two buttons unbuttoned.

All the ladies loved it, but were also grossed out by it.

A guy I work with is like that, and he's also overweight. I had to withhold my laughter and shocked appearance the first time I saw him. That unbuttoned shirt and chest hair all over just looked... so... wrong.

Since he wears the same stuff every single day, I'm used to it now, but I'd wouldn't mind a change.

This guy is nasty, too. He's got a really really bad complexion, one of those that kinda extends down to his chest. So he's just showing off an unhealthy, red splotchy looking, hairy chest. He's just plain gross.

He also wears pretty much the same clothes every day.

If you wear a dress shirt, please wear a t-shirt underneath. I don't know why someone would do what you're describing and try to show off their chest. I'm sure some women find it sexy (like when we see them wear tight / low-cut clothes... but come on now... it's the workplace.

I usually just button up the 3 at the bottom... but for casual stuff...

if its for work or speical occassion then it would be silly.

During the summer I usually go for 2 buttons. I don't think it's offensive, though I'm not a hairy guy (and I don't wedge the shirt open).

Depends on how the shirt fits. Some of them when you unbutton the second one down still stay remotely closed so it's no problem at all, and actually fits better. Also, if your wearing a white shirt underneath it can look fine, but it depends on the button-up shirt that you are wearing. Just my thoughts, but yea, I don't really like seeing the hair hanging out either.

yea, i unbutton the top 2, 1 being the choking button at the neck, and the button below that. However, i do wear a white t-shirt, or whatever undershirt that matches.

If I wear a dress shirt, I unbutton the first or second one but I put a white shirt under it to not show my chest hair. Yes, I agree that it is not pretty so I try to cover it up. You just look really old if you have it all the way buttoned up without a tie.
