Around 20 started to thin out, family has a history of it, shaved it all off and grew in a beard, the end

I was born bald. I tried growing hair for a few years but it was just a phase.

Started noticing it around 40.

Father thinned out early
One younger brother started showing before I did.

1. 17/18 years old

2. Tried Rogaine for about a year but I stopped cause it made my head itch like a motherfucker and made my hair kinda greasy (only used it in the front). I've been kinda thinkin about getting on Propecia.

3. Dad's side: Dad, Uncles, Grandfather. My Mom's side doesn't have any balding that I can think of (Grandpa was a bit, Uncles are not).

My father went bald and gray in his early 20s. I am now 42 and have hair down to my ass and the gray I do have is translucent and can barely be seen. My hairline has receded a tiny bit in the last 20 years but I beleive its because my hair is so long that is is probably just pulling it. Thank God I got my mother's hair gene and not my fathers. She's in her 60s and has a nice full head of hair and is barely gray at all........knocks on wood.

1. how old were you when it first started?
22

2. what have you tried to using minimize the hairloss?
Tried growing my hair out for a little while...that didn't work and just made it more noticeable. I ended up going with a shorter haircut for a while.

3. what is your family history of baldness? brother/dad/uncle/grandfather? mother's dad/brother, etc.
Dad is bald on top. Grandfather on Mom's and Dad's side was bald. Dad's brother still has a full head of hair. Brother on Mom's side is completely bald.

4. how did you eventually deal with it? just shave it all off? comb over?
Bought a HeadBlade about 3 years ago and haven't looked back since!

Also...I was a smoker when I started losing my hair. I noticed that when I quit and started down the healthy path that it wasn't falling out as much. -shrugs-

1. how old were you when it first started?

probably late 20s

2. what have you tried to using minimize the hairloss?

nothing

3. what is your family history of baldness? brother/dad/uncle/grandfather? mother's dad/brother, etc.

my younger brother (by 2 years) has no baldness, my father is almost bald, as was his father. on my mom's side it is thin with a bald spot. I think I am closer to my maternal side as far as hair genetics.

4. how did you eventually deal with it? just shave it all off? comb over?

i may have worried at one point but I really couldn't care less anymore. i usually get a normal haicut and use a 1 setting for most of my hair.

Late 20's. Tried Rogaine stupidly without reading the box (I had already progressed too far). Shaved it off a couple years back - almost everyone thinks I look better now.

It's in the family on both sides. I don't care about it, doesn't bother me at all. I still look good. The guys that worry about it have low self esteem, if you fix that your hair problems are fixed as well.

Started in early 20s, now 37 and it's receded a good amount.

on my moms side, most of the males were shiny bald by 4 or so. my older bro has been pretty much bald since early 20s. my dads side is mexican, not much baldness there, even tho he is starting to see a spot on the back now that hes pushing up to 60. i didnt see my scalp until my mid 30s, so i am happy about that.

once i couldnt wear a high and tight i just trim it with clippers at about 1.8" long. doesnt bother me, never really cared about it. my bro has tried pretty much everything to not be bald tho.

1. how old were you when it first started? early 20s

2. what have you tried to using minimize the hairloss? Rogaine. My wife and I have noticed a slight improvement. I've been using it for over a year.

3. what is your family history of baldness? brother/dad/uncle/grandfather? My dad and uncle are bald. My mom's side just had some thinning.

4. how did you eventually deal with it? just shave it all off? comb over? I've been contemplating buzzing it off, but I'm OK with how it looks ATM. If I were to lose much more (up front) I'd probably have to do something different with my hair.

Start at around 20. Now 22, it's slowly receding, seems to have slowed down since I started 'head-cercising'; exercising scalp muscles to increase blood flow. Retarded, but doesn't hurt to try. Daddy and uncle are bald. Grandmother is kinda too. My sibling isn't:evil: and he's a couple years older. Skip a generation my ass.

I just accepted it. If I go bald, fuck it. I'll start shaving it all. No drugs, no way.

Bothered me when I was young and single. Got married, don't care so much anymore. Never considered drugs or anything. Once you accept it, you'll be better off.

A little pill called Proscar, which I split into fourths and took each day when my hair stopped my hairloss completely. I've been taking the pills for 5yrs now and have a healthy full head of hair, thanks to that little pill.

I was about 25 when it started on the top. It seemed to stabilize for a long time. I'm 51 now and the front seems to be thinning again.

I never did anything to minimize it.

My father was very bald by his mid-20s. My younger brother is balder than me.

Live with it. Who cares?

I just keep my hair short with clippers. Mainly because it is free and takes two minutes. I don't care about thinning hair, and haven't done anything to minimize it.

My hair started thinning around 23-24, I'm 27 now and haven't done anything yet to try to minimize it. My dad and one uncle are bald. I haven't dealt with it yet and wear a hat everywhere.
