This is the sweetest game I've ever seen. You guys are going to love it. I haven't been able to check out the XBox version so i can't really compare, and I've never realyl been one for Tom Clancy games (not since Rainbow Six, and cause they wouldn't run) but this is freakin sweet and ahrd as hell.

Anyone know if this game's story line is modeled EXACTLY like it is on XBox...anyone know of the differences? I can't look up reviews, they block game sites here at work. 🙁

😀😀😀😀 Excellent stuff.

Yup. Played it a bit last night....very cool game. The emphasis on stealth and all the funky moves Sam can do make it pretty interesting for a shooter.

So what did you get, the PC version ?

It's not hard per se - just a little frustrating at times.

If you want a hard game, beat the game on both difficulty modes and then go back and try beating every level w/out knocking out a single person (except the ones you have to for mission goals) I've done every level except for the last half of Abbatoir and Presidential Palace (haven't had time to do PP yet) Just in case anyone is wondering, the only people on Chinese Embassy 2 you have to KO is the Colonel who opens the retinal scanner and the guy below the vases next to the turret.

Whatever you do don't give up 🙂 It's a fun game. Like I said, it's frustrating at times. After the first 2 or 3 levels you slowly get the hang of it. Most people need to beat the game at least once in order to really enjoy the game the next time around.

BTW - if there are alarms going off for seemingly no reason when you step through a doorway - it's because you didn't hide the bodies in the level well enough. That's the number one newbie question that's been asked on the Splinter Cell forums I frequent.

I got the PC version two days ago. It's pretty good but I've noticed some really large problems.

1. Grenades don't cause any damage.
2. If you take a hostage into a dark area all the other AI will lose you and go back to there routes.
3. I knocked down a guard with the stun ring, he was 3 feet away from me. He fell over, got up, and walked back to his desk?!?

It's a bit strange because it seems so well done. The detail is amazing. It's odd that they missed something a simple as grenade damage.

Of well... I still really like it. It kinda reminds me of the Thief series.

The AI has many other problems other than this, you'll find out the more you play. I'm on the last level now and have gone through some very frustrating areas because of the poor AI routines (especially when their aim is near dead on and you are definitely in the dark).

Their aim is dead on once they see you or you fire at them. I'm assuming they see the muzzle flash and can get you. Plus your not super human. A hit anywhere on your body registers as high damage.

Yup, a May release. Also the GC version will have some kind of GBA connection feature as well.

"if not better"

Fanboy alert, cause the XBox visuals blow the PS2 out of the water (I own all three consoles, just fyi). Theres no way the PS2 version is going to be better than XBox.

Thats cool that you can download new levels soon 😀
