Case is unnecessary, the screen doesn't get scratched that easily and why make it look worse with some film or whatever.

Plus, I feel the iphone 5 scratches nicely, doesn't bother me...! I pay for my jeans to come with nice wear on them so...

Using an otterbox commuter on my ip5. The thing is so slim i've dropped it a couple of times. Also, i have a child that knows how to abuse things... Just shy of two.

I seriously hope apple doesn't keep going thinner.

Never used a case or screen protector on any of my phones. I just treat em right and never drop them or use them when drunk.

Oh, it's hard to avoid using it at or after a party, you know, every time when I finished a meeting, I need to call to my family.

Otterbox Defender on my iPhone, and it is a good thing too because I've dropped it on parking lots, hard floors, etc. The case is cracked but the phone is OK.

Otterbox Defender is really a popular protection for devices. But I don't like its look.

OP's iPhone case is a kind of beauty, but retro style isn't my taste. I'm using a cute Monkey D Luffy iPhone case.

I bought some $7 case from a wholesale iphone case store here in NYC. It's been pretty solid so far.

I still use the Free Speck case from when the iPhone 4 had "antenna-gate" issue. Whenever it breaks, I just go into an apple store and they give me a free replacement. Its like I have gone thru 8 cases for free and haven't never even paid for a case ever. Its actually a pretty sweet deal.

It was definitely there, but how much it affected you really depends on the coverage in your area. If I tried to force it, I could make it drop about 20db but t would never lose service.

Even the iphone 5 I can grab both antennas and bridge them to the metal in the middle of the body and make the service drop by about 5-6db.

Oh I know, I just mean in everyday use I never triggered it.

I use an Incipio Feather case for my 4S, i protects the back and the edges of the glass and makes it easier to hold (slightly tacky feel). No screen protector though.

same. i use a black incipio feather but i have a power support matte/anti-glare screen protector on my 4S.

Belkin Grip Candy Sheer Glow/Blacktop

I love mine. I've had it since the iPhone 5 launched in late September and beaten it about as badly as possible. I wish my old Apple Bumper held up this well. As many times as I have dropped it on pavement, the phone is still perfect.

It looks and feels GREAT and actually gets random compliments from strangers (strange).

I backed an aluminum bumper off kickstarter that I am in theory getting next month. Generally, I prefer my phones naked, but this looked really good.

These type of cases have been coming and going since the iPhone 4. They negatively impact GPS and phone reception. Always, people initially say: "It's not that bad." Don't believe it! Avoid! Avoid!

I love my incipio feather!

linky
I hate it because the top and the bottom are exposed for no reason...not even aesthetics. It would look better if it actually protected the top and bottom.

Incipio Feather for 3G / 3GS was awesome. I do not like the 4/4S/5 versions of the Feather...not one bit.

wife hated all the cases in stores, so she made her own with a plain red Griffin case:

Someone should say it: That's extremely gaudy. Reminds me how my mother goes crazy overboard with her own craft projects.

Also, that looks more like a Speck Candyshell than any Griffin case.

Yeah, it's beautiful but unpractical. I can't image every time how you cautiously put it in your bag and how you worry about it while dropping your phone on the ground.
