oooh sexay.

Breast implants aren't just for women anymore.

The number of men turning to plastic surgery to obtain chests of steel ? think Superman or even Brad Pitt in Troy ? is not only up, it's way up, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

There were 409 pectoral implant procedures performed in 2006, a 99 percent increase over 2005, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

"It's such a confidence booster," according to one San Francisco massage therapist who got the implants two years ago as a 40th birthday gift to himself. "I walk a little taller now. And of course you want to buy every tight white T-shirt. It's crazy," he told the Chronicle.

Pec implants, like breast implants, come in an array of sizes and surgery pricing starts at about $7,000. The massage therapist, who asked not to be identified, said he paid $12,000 and has no regrets. "People buy cars, right? People buy property. I thought, 'I'll buy a set of pecs.' Like shopping at Crate & Barrel. 'I'll take that one,' " he added.

I saw an 18 year old kid get breast reduction on tv the other day... He didn't even have big breasts.

hah, seems like the easy way out of working out your pec muscles for a couple years. I would think your chest would look disproportionately large though, unless you work out all the other muscles to balance out.

The massage therapist, who asked not to be identified because he is sensitive about appearing overly vain, says he paid $12,000 and has no regrets. "No one's ever said, not once, 'Are those implants?' " he claims - including the men with whom he's been intimate.

So what do these look like when you get old and fat?

I think I'll just do it the hard way.

Haha, no kidding. I started doing incline and my chest looks like I got implants, but without spending $12,000.

That's the worst/most stupid part. If a woman has small boobs, she can't go to the gym and have double Ds in a few months. So, if that's just what she wants, she has to get surgery. But a guy can just go work hard, and bam, pecs! So a few months of work and maybe $100 in gym dues, or $12000 for the same result, but fake. Hmm...

Wow. If I were that lazy, i'd sooner use HGH than get implants. At least then you would actually have strength...

And considering the pain these dummies go through due to the surgery, I can't see how come they shy away from the small discomfort that lifting can produce. Unless of course they are doing most the recovery drugged out of their minds. I have seen calf implants are/were popular with men now too, Look slightly better perhaps only temporarily, still feel like shit/be out of shape FTL?

Oh man the calf implants are ridiculous. Who is so narcissistic that they have to make sure their calves look defined? This is why I hate the concept of working out to look good (for the average joe, at least), and fully embrace the concept of working out to be healthy, fast, strong, and able to handle anything life might throw at me. Just ludicrous...
