I'm suppose to talk about how technology improved and technology that was created in the span of the 1990's to 2000

so far
i could only think of

Cassette Tapes were replaced by Cds
CRT and LCD
Cell Phones(size and stuff)

anyone?

The evolution of graphics technologies.
Object-oriented programming - if you want something more hardcore. :D ;)

Optical media is another good one.
LD, CD, CD burning technologies, various types of CD media (VCD, Photo CD, etc.), PD/CD-ROM (anybody remember that? :)), DVD, DVD burning technologies.

What about the advent of the GUI (Windoze) on the PC? That + Internet = "change the world"...

Another fun one is the technology of war: You could talk about how GPS technology has revolutionized American air power, and point out the differences between Desert Storm and Afghanistan in terms of accuracy and firepower.

digital photography, mp3 players/car decks, satellite radio, PDAs/PPCs, optical/cordless mice, psx2/xbox- the trickier question is what technology hasn't improved in recent years.

Geeze, come on guys.. There's a million things, come up with a few more.

Spread of the Internet & Broadband Internet access. Related- IM, mail, etc.
Multi-player games, like Diablo, etc.
Computer-based animation meets Hollywood - Shreck, Monsters Inc, Final Fantasy, etc.
GPS and navigation systems in cars
Spread of microchips - IE, fuzzy-logic rice makers.
Wireless networking.
Digital Music (Someone else mentioned MP3, but better to be more general)
Electric cars
HDTV
On-line financial services - Turbotax, on-line banking, etc.

Just a few more ideas..
