I'm running a 2500+ and got a ThermalTake extreme volcano 12, w/stock hsf setup it would do 48-60 from idle to load at stock speeds, now with the volcano I'm up to 200 fsb, 3200+ speeds and still don't pass 56C under full load, plus it was only 35 bucks shipped from newegg, oh yeah I also used artic silver 5 when I put this on. only 35-40 bucks, good cooling, quiet fan if you don't run at full rpms and still cools very well without full rpms, also fits pretty close to the caps near the cpu socket but fits pretty well and easy to install

Just my cheap setup! Good luck

On what motherboard? Have you considered the Zalman CNPS-7000AlCu? If I was going to buy a new heatsink today that's what I'd get.

Mobiles are "the cream of the crop" silicon-wise. They run at the same speed as the desktop at lower voltage (vcore) and with less heat. Better OC results are now obtained with these. They are unlocked too, while the desktop is locked.

Recent rumors have it that the mobile 2600 are best.

Heck yeah for this price and I'd grab the 2600+ mobile Fern suggested for it.

I saw this sale in the latest email from SVC. I'm thinking about just ditching my alpha pal 8045 in favor of it...

I haven't tried the two you mentioned by I have the SLk above as well with a Panaflo 92 on it. It is terrific. On my Mobile 2600 212x11.5 @ 1.675v under load I hit around 40C. Idles around low to mid 30's. Another that I have tried and it is a champ for the cheap is this Speeze Falconrock. For the money it does a darn good job cooling a 200x12 overclock on two of the mobile systems I have up together. Load temps run around 50C. Voltage specs on both are 1.675. I would image the Speeze would start to die if you were really pushing voltage though (e.g., >1.8).
