I've got a v5 5500 and i figured i'd satisfy my own curiousity about this whole thing. I tried some asus v6800s and they had great 2d quality, so basically i figure its a no brainer to keep the v7700 if the 2d is as good.

Anyone with a v7700 out there that can attest to its image quality being top notch or blurry especially someone who has a v5 also (remote chance i know...)? I'm not really a hardcore gamer, i play some counterstrike which both of these cards can easily handle. Just sorta like being on the cutting edge. Being able to not get a headache at 1600x1200@75hz is my benchmark for quality. i wont get the card for a week since i'll be at school this week and coming home to pick it up next weekend, so i wanna know kinda what to expect.

I own a ASUS v7700 Pure and i am very disappointed about the 2d quality. Before this I had a Voodoo 3 and it had supperior 2d quality compared to this. When i run resolutions above 1024x768 i get alot of hardly noticeable flickering on the screen, also, the image is always a little blurred. Don't choose this card for 2d quality. BTW i am using a 1 year old Sony G-200.

damn.. well i guess i'll try it out first maybe its different in different batches. I mainly run 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 on my 19" so its gotta be pretty good or i'll go nuts./

Could always get a Radeon 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

Sorry, couldn't resist! Don't flame me!
