At the last movie I went to I noticed that usually when you had 2 guys come in to watch a movie when they sat down, they sat a seat apart and never right next to each other? Why? Do you do that?

Just one of those odd thoughts that went through my head.....

PS. I always sit one seat away (one seat buffer zone for food, etc).

Well, I do it, and my friends do it, cause we are guys and we like to stretch out, open up our legs, lean back and relax. Leg room is a must :)

But when I'm on a date I would never do that LOL :)

1. I'm a big dude.

2. It's probably and old habit from middle school when we would get girls to sit next to us. Of course if boy boy was there than a girl cant sit there.

The only time I have a buffer seat is when I go to the movies with my black friend who's 270LB or somewhere in that neighborhood. He needs his space.

We gotta have room to stretch. Plus... we don't like to share the armrest. If I'm on a date w/ a girl... then I don't mind as much.:)

Doesn't seem to be a problem around here. Guys aren't afraid to sit next to each other (unless there are girls around that is :p)

I've never noticed it.

I always sit with no gap with my friends. Don't see the point in it really......

uh uh. I go to movies to watch movies and I'm not too observant of other people. Also, how come some people never want to go to movies by themselve? What's the point in having your friends there since you guys basically can't talk in middle of the movie?

So they can stretch out?

Do you do that?

Not usually.

It's the same reason why you don't piss in the urinal next to someone when there are other urinals available.

My friends don't mind sitting next to me since I put my elbows at the back of the armrest and they all put theirs in the front.

Ummm...emotional support? ;) And you have someone you can walk out with a minute after the movie, voicing your pleasure or disgust towards a movie.

Most of the times I goto the movies with my best friend, who is 6'3". In our small town movie seats, this is nowhere near enough room. So we usually sit with a seat between.
