How about taking some bolt cutters and cutting the neck collar off?

They're cops, not bomb experts. How are they supposed to know if cutting it off would set off the bomb or not?

Exactly. Besides, the cops were waiting for the bomb squad to arrive but the bomb exploded before they got there.

How about just handing him the cutters and moving out of the way? At least he would have had a chance rather than just entertainment for the crowd

Oh yeah, so then the police department gets handed a nice lawsuit from his family for helping him to blow himself up

They should have called us ATer's in there. Im sure one of us could have debugged the bomb or since it doesnt have proper cooling overclock it and ajust the voltage until the clock/cpu burns out. Hmmmmmm. Makes me wonder. The bomb was prolly running on a timer set at around 4 minutes. Do you think we could have overclocked that puppy to around 10min with proper heatsink and fan?

How do you know they even had bolt cutters? I needed bolt cutters recently, asked a cop, he said they don't keep them in their cars. Who knows if the Erie police of the PA State Police do.

If the mod had done some legwork s/he would have found out the video in question does NOT show the explosion, but rather just a vidcap of the CBS coverage of this. It cuts away and just plays the sound.

Even if it did show it it was shown on the news. It's just a slightly colored puff of smoke.

The footage of the body parts on the ground is much worse, IMO.

Either way, it was on the freaking news & on all the major news sites.

The site I mentioned in my post, (which is now DELETED) I know is not a site that one should browse from work, I also didn't put in the whole site address. I don't know what the problem was, I wasn't advertising the site I was merely mentioning that is the site I was told to look for it at.

Anyhow, if they say that stuff can't be posted, then I guess it can't be posted.
