Just don't do what I did and let the pile of magazines grow too big. I just cleaned the pile the other day. The magazines on the bottom had to be pealed apart! :Q
 
I may not take long on the Crapper, but I do take long in the shower. I just lean up against the wall, phase out and think about stuff. It's the only place I am able to contemplate existence or anything else that's happened to me recently nowadays. I guess it's just relaxing in there, and the sound of the shower drowns out the outside world.
 
yes, Ihave to read too.. it kinda takes your mind away from the unplesentness of the smell and whatever. I usually bring the latest PC Gamer w/ me, or a Tom Clancy book. =)

But sometimes I do resort to desprate measures, water bottles.. hehe.. contain: Water. lol or game manual. The starcraft manual made interesting reading meterial, as well as some other games like Deus Ex and Homeworld.

i like to read because it's relaxing......but damn..2 hours???? doesn't your stuff crust by then? haha
 
I dont hafta.
Sure I do sometimes, but mostly I just get in, dump the waste and bail out.

Sometimes when getting home from work and feeling really $hitty, I take a DD&co or whatever, and spend quite a bit of time there.

A friend of mine called it the "Holy ritual of $hit" and said its something to be taken very seriously 😀
 
If I read on the pot, it takes LONGER. If I don't, I just do my deed and get the hell out of there in less than 2 minutes most of the time.

In college it was funny as hell when you'd go to the bathroom and all you'd hear is the echo of a few people's gameboys playing tetris as they laid waste. I've read things on my Visor, but never played gameboy.
 
Sometimes, I even take my Palm V with me... a few games of solitaire, and plop! Just as easy as that.
 
some times i'll print out one of the longer threads and read that while on the toilet ......😉


is it makeing you sick that i think of this board while dumping?
 
Not really... I sometimes save the classic threads to my Palm, just for a laugh on the run 🙂

Hehehe, being Canadian, most of my French has been gleened reading labels while in the can. On the flipside though, I also like to read labels when eating. Hmm, perhaps there is some kind of correlation?
 
I guess reading in the bathroom is ok, but at work it allways happens in this pattern:

1: Magazine appears in the break/lunch room

2: Someone takes it to the crapper and reads it

3: Person leaves mag on the floor in the crapper

4: Somehow the Mag. makes it's way back into the lunchroom onto a table

5: Yuck!!
 
taking a crap without reading spoils the fun of it - I keep an ESPN magazine in there, and my afternoon relief is time to read the frontpage section (sports gets read in the morning 🙂). Ive read shamppoo bottles, shaving cream cans...etc - when else would anybody read the stuff on those bottles anyways? 🙂 I have a difficult time reading school stuff on the can..dunno know why - maybe its productive? 🙂

 
when we read...it's using time wisely...your learning and getting "things" done

I'm spoiled...I can't take a crap...rather it's not as satisfying unless, I have a Car and Driver or PC Gamer's in hand. I don't have a rack in there, and with me, after a poop, the magazine gets a chuck next to the computer. Sometimes I can't find a specific magazine, and I run down stairs to the archive. It gets pretty close sometimes. I mean ZIP, BOOOM! Don't even have time to open the mag, but it's very comforting have it at least in hand🙂

yeah i MUST read something -- that's why i have so many magazines.
and if i can't get something to read (like when i'm at work) i bust out my Nokia phone and play some snake, rotation, or memory

me too....but I only like to play snake because that's what I feel like at the time
 
its the best place to read the newspaper and look for deals at fry's and other computer places! i wouldn't recommend any heavy reading. =)
 
somehow reading while on the crapper just doesn't seem right to me. i think something like what gunbuster said would happen.
 
The only time I'll read anything on the john is if I'm in the middle of reading something. If I'm doing my homework, and I've got quite a bit to do, I'll sometimes do that too. I have not played my sax on the john yet though.
