Guy trying to sell Dell OS DVD's, thinks its legal

Well, I'm trying to make a point with this guy who thinks selling Dell Distribution DVDs is legal. I even made a Digg article:

Can you guys with Digg accounts check it out and comment.

Originally he had a picture of the DVDs for sale, they were the same DVDs people get with their Dell computers. The ones that say " For distribution only with a Dell PC". He claims that it is legal and that they are legit copies. Well, what he is doing IS illegal, and he needs to understand that. He called me names and even tried to embarrass me. So now its his turn to be embarrassed.

From the picture he posted, these are the DVDs you get WITH your Dell computers. The one you use to reinstall your OS only. So its basically a Dell branded copy of Vista. Which is ONLY for the computer you bought. He doesn't disclose where he got the DVDs, which kinda bugged me. It's not right to go around selling illegal copies of Vista to random people. He might as well burn copies and sell those.

IIRC the licensing scheme on OEM copies "marries" them to the motherboard specifically. If you're buying a never-been-used OEM copy with some other hardware (like a CD burner), I *think* it's legit for the first installation, but once installed it's married to that motherboard.

As for the Dell CDs, well, it's pretty obvious that it isn't legit to sell them without the accompanying Dell machine on which they were originally installed.

Ok, I was reading that thread, and while I personally don't know the legalities of it all (it sounds like you're right) I can't digg you. I'm sorry, but your blatant non-use of "you're" got WAY annoying towards the end of my read. I can handle using the wrong version here and there but EVERY one of yours was.
